In my latest blog, Embodiment: A Practice of Becoming Your Intention, I shared reflections on practicing who we want and need to be, right now. Or maybe - who we really are. I told you about the contradictions of waking up cheerful for the first day in awhile in the midst of new wars, the sacrifices and ingenuity of my multi-hyphenate grandmother, and the urgency to keep creating as part of our commitment to evolution.
I made this tiny song earlier in the week, in the funk before I wrote and made my collage. But I decided to share it now, all by itself, trying something new. As always, imperfectly, with honesty, with love. What is something new you are creating, as a practice of freedom - that just may free somebody else?
Make Something New
Are you feeling choked by the news
Even though we already knew
Eyes well up with sorrow
Fears at the tomorrows
No words
No words
No words
But I refuse to go numb
Keep letting it flow
Don’t give up
Keep making love grow
Don’t give up
Keep letting them know
We won’t give up!
Are you feeling rage at the news
May it help us find out how we need to move
As our fists ball up in anger
May we remember
To use
To use
To use
this time to make something new
Keep letting it flow
Don’t give up
Keep making love grow
Don’t give up
Keep letting them know
We won’t give up!
No we won’t
No we wont
No we wont
Stop
Living
Loving
Giving
Growing
Moving towards each other
Even when
Its hard as f*#!k
